Mid-June 2023 news of an outage extension at the Norwegian gas processing plant Nyhamna saw prices rally and this impacted the export capability from the Ormen Lange and Aasta Hansteen gas fields.
The rally in price continued to reach a month high on Wednesday 14/06/2023. European gas prices remained volatile as there was a step-up in demand due to the heatwave.
Wind generation remained below 2GW which aided the surge in gas prices.
